Whats in and Whats not
Autumn always yields an exciting opportunity to make a fresh start. For many, the end of the sunny days means a new wardrobe and of course a new beauty regime. Autumns beauty will be defined by effortless, nostalgic fun. From textured hair to glossy pouts, these are some trends to consider this season.
1. Lightweight Tints
Nothing screams an autumn glow more the re-emergence of skin tints, lightweight foundations, and tinted moisturizers - radiant skin but with some coverage is the trend this season.
2. Undone Texture & Nostalgic volume HAIR
Its been in style for a while now, so curlier, more bouncing textures will reflect this season’s fun and flirty vibe. Amp up your texture with texturizing and sea salt sprays.
The 90s/early 2000s hair trend will continue with sculptural updos, conceptual colouring with metallic accents and styling, so big, sexy, Pamela Anderson tousled hair instead of the super sleek straight hair we have been seeing a lot of on the runways. Upside down blow dry’s with texture sprays are HOT.
3. Silky Smooth Skin
As the hemlines get longer and the days get shorter, know that skin is certainly in.
Upgrade your body care routine with nourishing creams, as well as the skin on your face, I can’t stress it enough, hydration!!!! Lightweight serums packed with moisturizing ingredients like glycerin, hyaluronic acid and antioxidants are huge.
4. Glossy Lips
Glossy lips with a shinier effect will be big. The 90’s trends are back so a slightly darker lip liner to define your lips and a lighter lipstick. Remember Christina Aguilera in the 90’s........
5. Nail Trends
Time to bring out the soft pastel tones. We not quite in winter yet so we have two months to keep it fun before we lunge into the dark plums.
If you don’t have time to make it to the nail salon – press on nails are a big trend this Autumn.
And remember to keep those cuticles hydrated as well. Olive oil is a great hack.
6. Multitasking Pigments
I’m predicting bright, bold blush in cream formulas, remember just because the days are dull, it doesn’t mean we need to be, all should pair well with lightweight foundations, think dessert vibes, terracotta tones with shimmer to them. Skin is natural, enhancing freckles, keep your skin free. I love a liquid illuminator on the cheek bones. So basically, don’t use any powders. Bronzers are out as well.
7. All-Over Glitter – My favourite
As always, we shouldn’t fear a bit of sparkle across our entire bodies, its a trend we saw in Euphoria and across the 2022 runways. It creates such a metallic impact that gets a lot of attention. Infinite Chrome Flakes, can be used on bare skin, on the body, nails or on top of an eyeshadow. You can’t go wrong with too much as well. I have some on my nails, in my gloss and sometimes even in my hair. Yay for fairy vibes!
