The essentials! My personal spine health scare revealed!
I want to share a personal experience I had 2 weeks ago, I literally woke up and I could hardly walk, my lower back and upper glutes had completely gone into a spasm, and I know I joke about saying tall people’s problems, needless to say, I had to get to my chiropractor and I made the mistake of getting into my car and I drove, I was in so much pain I was almost having blackouts, I got to my Chiropractor and my back was in a state – long story short I was “man down” for a week, literally in bed. Without sounding dramatic my midsection literally failed me, I couldn’t even sit up straight on my own. I really thought to myself what if this never comes right like will I even be able to walk again?
This is what brings me to today’s topic of Spinal Health.
We generally don’t give much thought to our spine health at all. I mean my makeup kit alone weight 35kgs I’m lifting and pulling it up everywhere not even paying attention to my spine at all
Your spine is crucial to good health. So many of the entire body’s vital functions are within the spine. It gives you support, allows you to walk upright, and carries all the necessary information for you to conduct your day.
We mistreat our spines. We slouch, we hunch, and we twist and turn in uncomfortable ways just to get comfortable in the short term.
I had a special guest on The Beauty Pass, my chiropractor Dr Lean Swanepoel whom I can’t thank enough for being the most amazing human n the whole world. Dr Swanepoel has completed his six year full-time Master’s degree in Chiropractic. He is registered with the Allied Health Professions Council of South, a member of the Chiropractic Association of South Africa as well as Chiro Sport South Africa, and he is currently serves as a part of the World Spine Day international committee.
